Open Enrollment 2025- 2026
Introduction:
The GeoEd Foundation is a (501(c)(3)) not for profit organization and all the directors, coaches and mentors are volunteers who receive no remuneration. Funds generated are exclusively used for promoting Geo education and related activities.
Program Objectives:
Primary
To improve Geography literacy and assist in acquiring related knowledge to facilitate an understanding and appreciation of the world for molding eco-minded, future global citizens.
Secondary
1. To prepare children for the NSF and IAC competitions and high school and College Bowl contests.
2. Geographic literacy provides a head start in the following AP courses while in High School:
Human Geography, Physical Geography, European History, World History, US History, US Government and Politics, Comparative Government, Political Science, Environmental Science and Economics.
Eligibility:
Target Audience: 3rd to 12th graders
(In exceptional cases, younger children will be considered for enrollment provided at-home support is assured on a consistent basis)
Schedule:
Semester 1 - September to December (weekly topics, zoom classes, learning exercises)
Semester 2 - January to May (weekly lessons, zoom classes, learning exercises)
Formal coaching sessions align with the typical K12 calendar
Competition prep and makeup work during summer months
Enrollment:
Enrollment is open throughout the year
12 month duration
$200 scholarship for new students during extended open enrollment (October to December)
Full and partial fee waiver for economically needy families
